Inspiration

Today I'd like to share with you some inspirational pictures which I usually relate to when picturing my ideal Fall wardrobe this yea, not only of outfits but also other things which give me the wintery feeling of the season. All of them were taken fom tumblr.com and don't get surprised if you see Magdalena Frackowiak in a lot of them, she's perfect!

Fall Pick: PVC/Transparent Umbrellas

I have been so obsessed wth them! They're not just stylish anymore, to me personally, I think they even make the rainy day experience a lot more enjoyable. Plus, instead of being unrecognizable by having a plain black umbrella, people can actually see you through it.
Here are two models which you can find in shops:
1. John Lewis   2. Target

Mercedes-Benz Spring 2014 NYFW Highlights: Day Five [Part One]

Forever young Carolina Herrera.
On the morning of the 9th, Carolina Herrera presented us her collection. The looks on the runway bounced between a cosmopolitan and exotic women's style, plus, the transitions were so sly that you could only notice them once they were already turned over. This CH collection featured a lot more one-piece clothing such as long flowy dresses or cocktail dresses, rather than individual pieces. Perhaps because the inspiration required that, but I wouldn't say no to any of this Spring's CH long and breezy clothing. Would you?

My favorite 5 looks.

Tommy Hilfilger wearing his logo's colors. If this man wasn't a fashion designer, he's probably be a fashion designer.
Inspired by the West side's cultures, Tommy Hilfilger filled Pier 94 with sand to mimic California's beaches in this collection. Laid-back outfits opened the catwalk, with sporty lines and bright colors. One sensual piece style gets my attention - pants and shorts with a zipper which leave quite a lot to the imagination, giving the ilusion that you could unzip them and expose yourself. They're also presented in a bright color block that reassures they get noticed. A cutout swimsuit in red reminds me of beach lifeguards - probably back in the Baywatch days. A whole lot more of casual street by-the-shore clothing circulate through the runway, when suddenly on the last several outfits Tommy portraits what to me is the tourist look; On some of the first pieces of the show you could capture shirts and dresses with lines very similar to bowling shirts - or vacation shirts without the flower patterns. In this last part of the showcase, Hilfilger brings those flowers onto the catwalk along with khaki clothing. Does that paint the picture well enough for you? I think yes.

Parece-vos claro o suficiente? Eu acho que sim.
Do you like my top 5?

Mercedes-Benz Spring 2014 NYFW Highlights: Day Four

The very Donna Karan herself.
On one of the busiest days of NYFW, last Sunday, the 8th, DKNY celebrated the brand's 25th anniversary with their SS14 collection. The show opened with Joan Smalls and the brand's back-to-the-originals clothing of a casual streetwear style. Baggy pants, large coats and jackets, sneakers and sports bags. Halfway through the show, the colors orange and blue popped out on the runway and they really made me rewind back to DKNY's SS09 collection, one of the first memories I have of the brand, back when I started acknowledging fashion. I feel like in this collection, Donna Karan really made use of the present celebration to gather together many of the best pieces she has created in the past 25 years - and which are so unique of DKNY - and recreated them. Happy birthday!

My personal five feminine pieces.
And my personal three male favorite looks.

Diane Von Furstenberg transpiring the joie du vivre all over.
In a collection called Oasis, Diane Von Furstenberg presents a classic start, taking us back to the retro 40s almost, in black, white and red. Shortly after, the Oasis doors open and the models turn into wild animals. Prints are definitely a trend for Spring this year, furtunately less aggressively than the late 2011, early 2012 clothing trends were. A print mixing a few animal patterns in vertical stripes catches my eye - it's subtle, still appealing. Another print accompanies it, looks like a cork pattern and combines perfectly with the dark denim blue color in a few more subtle pieces. Soon, the brighter side of the jungle kicks in, contrasting the sunset and the sea in joyful clothes that once again change their styles into yet another new mood. The following pieces shine under a more golden and flowy light, with more animalistic details which can make success in about every club. And what best model to end this wild show than Naomi Campbell? We've seen many happy inspirations for this Spring, it seems like our world is slowly becoming a better place.

My personal 5 favorites.

Yohji Yamamoto is tired of those groupies walking down the street wearing their matching outfits. So he presented us his very unique and unconventional collection. The lighting and ambient combined perfectly with his choice of darker tones mixed with several pops of bright colors. A very modern and sportsy collection, for sure, but critics suggest the most appealing pieces may not be so practical in everyday life. Do the abnormally cool clothes really compensate if they've got no function to them?
-

My top five feminine, but especially the last dress (love)
And my top 5 male favorites (the models count too)

Very cute Vivienne Tam thanking her guests.
Vivienne Tam goes back to the Oriental origins without getting traditional. In this Spring collection, Vivienne recreates Shanghai costume patterns into her own, along with fine embroidery and cutouts. The figures are kept simple not to drift attention away from the details and I'm very happy with these pieces because I'd honestly wear every single one of them. You go Vivienne!

Continua assim Vivienne!
My very hard decision of the five favorites.

Very handsome Zac Posen.
While other designers are picking sportswear as a complement for this Spring's trends, Zac Posen keeps his fine style of uncomparable gorgeous occasion dresses and gowns. Although in a "more sculptural (style) than usual" and inspired by Impressionists, Zac never stops surprising and taking us back to fairytail-like times. Every models looks like a fine princess on Zac Posen's catwalk.
-

My four favorites (gorgeous!)
